What is Derprosa

Since 1988, Derprosa^TM has been the leading brand in the manufacturing and commercialization of special laminating films for graphic arts. Derprosa became part of Taghleef Industries in 2014.

We are manufacturers. Derprosa's films are produced in their plant in Alcalá la Real (Spain) and the entire process is carried out internally: research, design, formulation, choosing raw material suppliers, extrusion, bio-orientation, co extrusion, special coating, metallization, applying color, cutting, adapting sizes, logistics, distribution, and so on. This enables us to be aware of all the variables which affect our products and as a result we can use that knowhow to advise customers on technical and commercial matters, provide post-sale customer service, advise brands and designers and train workers.

We are specialists. Our entire company is focused on the manufacturing of films for the lamination of paper and card. Our plant in Alcalá la Real, and therefore production, has been specially designed and specifically developed for this specific sector of the market and the knowhow we possess is transformed into the most innovative films.

We are innovators. We are the inventors of the concept of films which have tactile qualities. It is our DL Soft Touch® film line, and all its variations, which has become an industry-leading product, bringing premium quality and a sense of luxury to any laminated paper product. Other examples of innovative finishes and textures include: BacterStop which is capable of preventing proliferation and the consequent transmission of bacteria; ​Sandy, which as the name implies, has a special feel to it and our new reLife, which is a range of films partially manufactured using post-consumer chemically recycled resin (PCR) as a raw material, which contributes to reducing environmental waste while enabling the production of films identical to those produced entirely with raw materials from fossil sources.

Derprosa is committed to regularly releasing new films for different purposes. We aim to provide brands and designers with more ways with which they can make themselves stand out and also give our clients an added sales advantage.

We are Taghleef Industries. We have been part of Taghleef Industries since 2014. We haven't lost our passion for developing the best solutions for laminating paper in graphic art applications. We have a dedicated team focused on this task in Spain, backed by the global support provided by Taghleef industries and the synergy derived from working with and being part of this company.

We are global. Our laminating films for graphic arts are manufactured in Spain and commercialized in over 80 countries through our own supply channels and other distributors , for example our commercial and logistics subsidiary Derprosa Specialty Films USA, as well other American warehouses and logistical centers. Throughout the world we have 14 warehouses and a commercial and technical team which personally visit all our clients.

We are technical consultants. The films we produce are a result of the obstacles facing each printer, brand or publisher. The needs of each sector are dictated by the market and we design films that provide a solution to these needs, sharing the knowledge we gain with all our clients. To make this possible, both our commercial and technical teams go to our customers' facilities to provide in situ technical support, advise on the most adequate equipment settings and carry out staff training. We support our clients so they can optimize production and really make the most of the products we provide.

We are flexible. We produce tailor made films at the request of our customers. Given that we carry out the entire manufacturing process ourselves, we are able to be flexible and adapt or modify films at the request of our clients or for specific projects.

With regard to the films in our catalogue, it is important to highlight that we can supply practically any roll width, as well as having a variety of different roll lengths, which allows us to meet the requirements of different types of clients and laminating teams.

We are creative. Many of our innovations are as a result of market requirements and others are simply our own ideas based on experience and trends that we see in the market.

We travel, meet our clients and their technical production and sales teams. We share our knowledge and learn from them. We take part in and visit the most important trade shows related to different industries and sectors:  the graphic industry, publishing, cosmetics, luxury packaging, business stationery. We meet with brands and designers. It is this contact with people from different fields, each one of them looking at the same reality from a different angle,  which allows us to know what is needed and therefore anticipate the demands of the market and produce films which meet each of their specific needs.

We are quality. We have been accredited as such by the following certifying bodies which  audit us and help us to constantly improve: AENOR, ISO 90012000, BRC, etc,. Our goal is continuous improvement: we are constantly trying to make our processes and procedures better and we have the best computer and technical systems at our disposal, both in management software (SAP, Sales Force) and cutting-edge technology for manufacturing and quality control.

We are consistent. Consistency is the key to quality. For us, being consistent means that we must guarantee that the films used by Derprosa's clients always behave in the same way, resulting in constant homogenous finishes. This must be true for the film of an entire roll, for rolls from the same set, and for sets from the same production or from different ones.

As we are the manufacturers and carry out all the processes, our workers pay great attention to detail. Our technical resources are used and production is carried out in conditions which allow us to achieve the same desired consistent result without exception.

Above all, we are people. Behind the machines, the equipment, the warehouses, the computers and the telephones, there is a group of people who are dedicated to this company, many of whom have been working here since the company was set up in 1988. Derprosa has over 200 direct employees, with Taghleef Industries employing a total of 2700 workers. We are people who believe that the products we make contribute towards the success of many other people and this motivates us to keep moving forward, to carry on innovating and to continue competing to constantly improve.
